BMD Northcliffe men filled the top four placings in yesterdays Coolangatta Gold. Caine Eckstein claimed his 3rd Coolangatta Gold victory with a dominating performance in the grueling 46km race. Veteran Dean Mercer put in an impressive performance to finish 2nd place a month out from his 40th birthday, with Nathan Smith in 3rd and Cory Hill in 4th place.
In the women's race, Courtney Hancock finished 3rd with younger sister Bonnie in 5th place. Elizabeth Pluimers, who lead the race going in to the final run leg collapsed with exhaustion only 20 metres from the finish line and unfortunately was unable to finish.

In the Under 19 race, BMD Northcliffe's Michael Booth finished in 2nd place with Aaron Murphy putting in a courageous performance just to finish the race only 10 months after being hit by a car which left him in a coma for 3 weeks with severe head trauma.
